Friends of NCBRT

The NCBRT is a primary component of Louisiana State University (LSU) and the National Center for Security Research and Training (NCSRT). The NCBRT is comprised of several cooperating units of the LSU system. Notable among them are the Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (ACE), the LSU Health Sciences Center, and the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine . Each continues its history of excellence and each is committed to the purpose and projects of the NCBRT. The NCBRT, through its components, is involved in teaching, training, technical assistance, research, and other projects within the area of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and high consequence events (HCEs).
The NCBRT is administered according to the rules, regulations, and policies of LSU, as well as the laws of the State of Louisiana and federal guidelines. The majority of the NCBRT’s funding is derived from Congressional action and is managed by DHS. Certified courses are delivered under a Cooperative Agreement between the NCBRT and DHS.
The NCBRT is a founding member of a significant, national consortium that is focused on assisting the federal government’s response preparedness for incidents involving WMD and HCEs: the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC). Members of the NDPC include:
Additionally, the NCBRT founded the National Health Professions Preparedness Consortium (NHPPC) at the request and in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The NCBRT provided the leadership for the NHPPC as it developed the initial five-year strategic plan for the USDHHS Nobel Training Center and also helped develop courses intended for delivery at the Noble Training Center. Members of the NHPPC include:
