Course Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define all-hazards terminology
- Describe and apply the DISASTER ParadigmTM to
various disaster scenarios
- Recognize potential public health emergencies and
their causes, risks and consequences
- Distinguish the roles of federal, state, and local
governments in all-hazards emergency response
- List scene priorities of a mass casualty incident (MCI)
response
- Describe the purpose of personal protective equipment
and decontamination
- Describe pre-hospital and hospital medical components
of an MCI response
- Identify disaster response resources to support local
efforts
